I am one of those teens who like to plan their future early in life. I would really like to visit Arizona, as I plan on moving there one day. Louisiana has also come to mind, and I would like to know which state is better. I haven't visited either state before. Keep in mind Katrina has recently hit, but I won't be taking action on my moving plans until I am out of college. So, please help! Thank you! (:|||While Drakes answer is mostly correct there is one thing that he said that is a little misleading. While most of Arizona is considered "desert" land, there is a very significant part of Arizona that is far from desert-like. There are 6 national forests in Arizona:
Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest
Coconino National Forest
Coronado National Forest
Kaibab National Forest
Prescott National Forest
Tonto National Forest

Arizona consists of two major land regions 鈥?the Colorado Plateau to the north, and the Basin and Range Region to the south.

The Colorado Plateau is an arid region of level plains more than 4,000 feet high, broken here and there by mountains and deep canyons. Humphrey鈥檚 Peak, the highest mountain in the state (12,655 feet), is located near Flagstaff. The deepest canyon, the famous Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, is also found here. The mountains in this region are heavily forested.

The southern half of Arizona consists of the Basin and Ridge region. Mountain ranges interrupted by desert basins run from the northwest to the southeast. The land immediately south of the Colorado Plateau is quite rugged and includes the Gila, Mazatzal and Sierra Ancha mountain ranges. Farther south, broad, fertile valleys separate heavily forested mountain ranges. This part of the region produces excellent crops with proper irrigation.

Just want to clear it up for those people that think Arizona is a barren desert!

Arizona is an incredibly beautiful state. My personal favorite areas are Sedona, Flagstaff and the area around Snowflake. (Yes, it actually snows in AZ!!)|||Louisiana is a deep south state with hot, wet, summers, and warm, dry, winters. It fits the standard Southern culture, with a mixture of Cajun living. New Orleans and Baton Rouge are the only two notable cities in the state, with New Orleans being the largest of the two. If you are more of a rural person, Louisiana may be the state for you.

Arizona is a southwestern desert state with very hot, dry, summer and warm/hot, dry, winters. Most Arizona residents live in cities, mainly in the Phoenix or Tucson areas. Very few people live in more rural areas of Arizona due to the extreme desert conditions. So, if you are more of a city person, Arizona may be the state for you.

Remember though, that both of these states have very warm climates, so if you do not care for warm weather, neither of these states may be what you're looking for.
