The new Arizona immigration law says that police are not allowed to engage in racial profiling, but I don't recall seeing any penalties if they do. Will the entire department lose their jobs? Will the governor right them a stern letter? Does a clause with no teeth have any bite?|||I think some of this excitement is stupid. This law was made to deal with the problems along the MEXICAN border. They aren't looking for red headed Irish folks sneaking across the border right? Who are they looking for? Use a bit of common sense here. Of course they are going to be more suspicious of someone of obvious Hispanic descent who doesn't speak english. I agree that it shouldn't be the only reason to stop or question someone but adds to the reasons. On the other side of the coin, there are others who may speak good english and not appear hispanic who should not be overlooked.|||Does any law have a stipulation for police who racial profile? the same thing that happens to other cops who racially profile will happen to them, actually they will probably get much sterner punishment because its such a hot issue. More than likely lose their jobs|||the new law does not have it in it as it is already on the law books under harassment. what you should say is why doesn't the law do enough to rid Arizona of illegals|||racial profiling is illegal everywhere. does it happen? of course. you do realize that federal law allows police to ask for documentation if they suspect you are an illegal? arizona didn,t invent this law. they are implementing a law that has been on the u.s.a. books for quite a while. obama didn,t mention this?|||You have been misinformed.|||They will get the same as any cop in any state that does: Kicked out of LE forever, probably a huge fine and have to go to court, and the eternal hatred of the hundreds of thousands of good cops that don't want a bad name from 1 bad apple.
