Is it possible to grown blueberries in Central Arizona?

If so when to plant and what kind? Can they survive the heat and cold of Phoenix and Tucson?|||No. Your soil and water is way toooo alkaline. Blueberries need acidic soil. Sure you could make an acidic soil, but the process would release so much salt, the soil would be toxic to the plants plus the water is alkaline.

Maybe strawberries in the winter......maybe. Contact the Maricopa Cooperative Extension Service, perhaps they have some printed material (or even web material) on growing fruits in Central AZ.
