I think the northeast is filled with Candian illegals. In Ohio, you can tell by accents and manners that they are not from your area.
How will Arizona enforce all illegal immigrants fairly?|||they don't need to distinguish illegal canadians from illegal mexicans. they just need to distinguish that they are illegal (no matter of the race)|||They aren't interested in enforcing their new law fairly. I think you and your friends might find this interesting, hon:
Brewer, then Secretary of State, had organized a racially loaded purge of the voter rolls that would have made Katherine Harris blush. Beginning after the 2004 election, under Brewer's command, no less than 100,000 voters, overwhelmingly Hispanics, were blocked from registering to vote. In 2005, the first year of the Great Brown-Out, one in three Phoenix residents found their registration applications rejected.
That statistic caught my attention. Voting or registering to vote if you're not a citizen is a felony, a big-time jail-time crime. And arresting such criminal voters is easy: after all, they give their names and addresses.
So I asked Brewer's office, had she busted a single one of these thousands of allegedly illegal voters? Did she turn over even one name to the feds for prosecution?
No, not one.
Which raises the question: were these disenfranchised voters the criminal, non-citizens Brewer tagged them, or just not-quite-white voters given the Jos茅 Crow treatment, entrapped in document-chase trickery?
The answer was provided by a federal prosecutor who was sent on a crazy hunt all over the Western mesas looking for these illegal voters. "We took over 100 complaints, we investigated for almost 2 years, I didn鈥檛 find one prosecutable voter fraud case."
This prosecutor, David Iglesias, is a prosecutor no more. When he refused to fabricate charges of illegal voting among immigrants, his firing was personally ordered by the President of the United States, George W. Bush, under orders from his boss, Karl Rove.
(snip)
But that's the point, isn't it? Not to stop non-citizens from entering Arizona -- after all, who else would care for the country club lawn? -- but to harass folks of the wrong color: Democratic blue.
More here: http://www.gregpalast.com/behind-the-ari鈥?/a>|||Unless a person is used to, as you've said, the accents and mannerisms, there's little way for most people to even guess that an Asian, an Indian, a Pacific Islander, an African, a Middle-Easterner or a European is illegal but a lot of people think brown-skin and a south-of-the-border accent mean NOT AMERICAN. The problem is going to be telling illegal Latinos from legal Latino American citizens in some parts of the southwest.|||SO by your own description YOU "profile " them.
Welcome to the fold.
Works too doesn't it.|||It's going to be tough. According to conservative sources the Northeast is utterly loaded with Canadian illegals who are running from socialized medicine. Of course these people think illegal alien and Mexican mean the same thing, which is why racial profiling is now legal in my state.|||That is the controversy behind it. People are afraid they will be stereotypical and racist, and that is why so many individuals are against it. No one really knows if there can be a 100% "fair" way to do it, however, it is something they feel they need to do because it is a big problem there.|||who ever heard of a problem with illegal Canadians? I think Canada should be watching out for illegal Americans. Canada has it all over the US as a great place to live.|||Haha, I had to laugh at this because it's a valid point. If an officer pulls you over and you have a Canadian accent or you say "eh" or whatever, do they have the right to ask for your papers? lol|||The law says "reasonable belief" that someone is illegal. So they are either brown or have flapping heads.
Cheers!|||When you read the law, what did you think?
http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bi鈥?/a>|||Canadians will have Canadian money|||I think the border partol only borders the south.|||We should wall off Mexico & annex Soviet Canuckistan.
