I live in Wisconsin, my family and I are planning to move to Arizona. We want to get away from the snow, and the 15 below winters. Good place to go with a 13 year old girl, and save place to live. Also good weather year round.|||I grew up in Gilbert, AZ. It was great, a nice atmosphere it raise children in, lots of good housing developments that don't look run down. Its about 20 miles outside of Phoenix. If you live near "Old Town Gilbert" (named so because they have most of the original "old west" buildings there) your between 5 and 7 miles from two different malls (great for when you 13 is older and wants to hang out with friends) There are parks everywhere. If you have dogs Gilbert's Cosmo Dog Park was named best Dog Park in 2007. Right now the weather is nice, most of the winter you can just open the doors and windows during the day and let it cool off the house. At night we just close up and turn on fans (not really any need to run the heat). The only part i dislike about living here is that the summers are (obviously) very very hot. Its not a dry heat like everyone claims, but its not as sticky as some cities i've vacationed in. You just have to learn to work around it. For instance, the time to take a walk or let the kids run out and play during the summer would be around before10 am and after 6pm. During early to mid afternoon the sun is very high and you run the risk of sunburn and dehydration if you don't know what you're doing. Its also just darned uncomfortable to be out when its that hot. My sugestion is to stick around the Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler area when looking for a home here. Queen Creek (neighboring city of Gilbert) has a lot of new build housing going on at killer prices. Hope this helps!|||hi

|||Im from Michigan and I moved to Mesa, Arizona almost 2 years ago. I like it ok but the summers are ruthless. The heat is horrible. Im not sure if its worse to be in the extreme heat, or the extreme cold. It takes some getting used to. If you are specifically trying to get away from the cold and snow then you will definitely like Arizona. Good luck to you and your family.|||Anywhere in the southern part of the state. I used to live in a small town about an hour south of Tucson and it was nice and Tucson is really nice too.|||Pheonix its warm all yeat round it could get a little cold in the winter but no snow|||Tucson is goodi like Prescott too|||Phoenix is nice
