How long does it take to be declared such?|||It doesn't go by state it goes by college. So you need to go on line to the colleges in AZ you are interested in and check. In general, for most, it is a year. And there may be more requirements other than just living there. Like getting your driver's license there or filing your taxes in that state. Living on campus in a dorm does not count as being a resident. Most colleges require you to live on campus as a freshman.
