I use to grow many fruits and vegtables in Phoenix Arizona and wanted to know if Watermelons and pumpkins would be able to grow? Has anyone ever successfully grown these and what do I need to do to make this happen?|||Allot of water. You can grow them, but you need to amend the soil, and give them more than usual the amount of water. You will also have to shelter the fruit from the heat of the sun. Get some plant shade cloth to use for that. You can make frames to hold the cloth, from PVC if you need to. You do however have to have the sun protection. I just bought this container of stuff, that when added to the soil, it will hold the water in, until the plants roots need it. Then it releases the water. A little goes a long way,and it wasn't expensive either. I'll go look in the garage for the name,( I don't want to go out there,it's to cold!) Burr, I'm freezing! The name is,"Quench" made by, "Zebra" For garden beds, use 2 cups per 100 sq. ft. Work it into the first three inches of soil, then plant your seeds, or plants. You can use it on lawns, Hanging baskets, potted plants, landscape plants. I've only used a little, but with you being in Arizona, I would recommend at least trying it. I paid 14.99 for 16 oz. You wouldn't have to water as much that way. Byee|||Yes on the Watermelons
