Oh wait, it doesn't. It applies to all races, even white. I'm so sick of being called a racist, when I, myself, moved here LEGALLY from Canada, acquiring all of the papers necessary to live here LEGALLY, WITHOUT DEPRIVING AMERICAN CITIZENS OF WHAT THEY DESERVE. I do not agree with ANY form of illegal immigration, whether it is from Mexico, Lithuania, or wherever. Congratulations to Arizona for standing up for what is right! Would you agree?|||No, you're completely right. But why don't you get real for even just a second & faces the facts of reality. You really think that a cop parked on the street, will see some white guy from Europe or Canada & just randomly ask him for his papers? Ha, don't even say yes cause you & I both know he wouldn't. Now, if it was some guy from South America or Mexico, we both know the situation would be much, much different. Say what you want, but you know it's true. I'm not calling you racist, just simply saying to face the reality of the situation.|||If I bothered to look it up again, I would be able to tell you where is specifically FORBIDS use of ethnic background or national origin to decide if there is reason to believe an individual is illegally in the US. I am currently too lazy to do the research.|||Run! Drive by!!!|||No it does not, i agree with you 100%. The problem is Dems/libs cannot seem to understand this. You my friend are one smart cookie:)|||Illegal immigration is a problem, the new law isn't a solution.
1. There are already laws on the books that deal with arresting, detaining and deporting illegals. There are also laws that fine business for hiring illegals, however none of them are properly enforced. Adding a new law, that has serious potential to violate civil rights doesn't help with the problem.
2. The federal Government under the Obama administration has already deported more illegals than the Bush administration did in 8 years. Claiming that the federal government isn't doing it's job now is partisan politics at it's finest.
3. It's the Mexican border. The law can state specifically that they won't racially profile, but reality won't agree. Hispanics will be the targeted, not whites, african americans, or asians. There are already tensions between arizonians and hispanics. One of the events that preceded the law passing was the beheading of a farmer. People were enraged about a hispanic killing an American. That's the ideology attached to the law, "Hispanics are evil, they'll kill you unless we get rid of them".
4. If Arizona wanted to stand up for what was right, they'd enforce the laws they have on the books, and create harsher ones to punish businesses/individuals who hire illegals. Without jobs, fewer of them would cross the border. Instead they create a new law to individually detain and deport illegals. It's costly and doesn't solve the problem. For every 1 illegal detained, 3 more cross the border. It doesn't make sense to try and stop them 1 at a time.
