Would they be ok or is it too hot for them in the arizona heat?|||If you are seriously considering either of these great breeds, why not contact your local St.Bernard Club, to ask for advice on any special considerations for AZ>>

E-Mail: redpathr@getnet.com|||i live in arizona, and it is scorching, but, if you can keep them mainly indoors, and give them plenty of shade for when they are outside, it shouldnt be too bad for them. i know people who have owned shaggy hair dogs such as chows in arizona so im sure its doable in the right circumstances.|||As long as they are kept inside with air conditioning and only exercised very early in the morning and late in the evening/night,when it is cooler, they would do OK,but they would not thrive like they would in a cooler climate. They would also need to be kept immaculately groomed to keep their coats free of mats, dead undercoat and fleas/ticks.|||If they are allowed access to air conditioning at all times (via doggy door ect) then they should be fine. You would want to limit taking one for a walk only in the early morning hours such as 5am in the summer months.|||They would be fine as indoor dogs but the outdoors might be too much...
