This is a fairly long question but all information will be helpful. I currently live in Arizona and have an Oregon driver's license. I am going to purchase a used car from a family friend. What steps do I need to take in order to drive the car back (legally) to Arizona? In which state do I register the car? (Also, the car is fully paid off by the person I am purchasing it from). Thanks!|||All you need is a Bill Of Sale documenting the purchase. The last valid registration. You need to insure the car with your local agent. Place a paper tag in the back window that says "TAG APPLIED FOR" and the date you purchased the car.

If you get pulled over you'll have all the paperwork you need proving you just purchased the car and you are transporting it home.

Once you get home, register the car in the county where you live.|||well, to start, you will need to get the car registered in the state you plan on living on. contact your local dmv and find out for sure what you need to have done.
